At Charlie Hanks (our 5th meeting)Charlie's piece had three forge welds in it. The first was the stack of pieces that make the scrolls, the second was welded at that weld to make the drive spike and the third to add a hook to the bottom of the piece. This piece will be the subject of an upcoming anvilfire iForge demo with step by step instructions. Bobby Floyd our secretary (in red) watching.
Charlie Hanks working at his tire hammerAt the end of the meeting we gave Charlie some tune up pointer on his hammer. Built by Clay Spencer the hammer had too much die clearance as set up. It hit quite hard but had no control at low speed. Reducing the die clearance 1" will make it easier to use.
